Dr. Yalda Saadat
Yalda Saadat is currently a research faculty at Johns Hopkins University and also a research scientist in the Engineering lab at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). She received her Ph.D. in the Center of Technology and Systems Management of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a recipient of the National Research Council (NRC) Grant. Dr. Saadat received two master’s degrees in civil engineering and mechanical engineering while working in the renewable energy design lab at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She also received her B.S. in civil engineering.
Dr. Saadat’s work focuses on the resilience of smart and connected communities and infrastructure networks with a systematic approach, along with the resilience of the supply chain in the event of natural disasters. On a broader spectrum, Dr. Saadat delves into quantifying the network resilience in urbanized areas. Using a multidisciplinary approach, she employs various scientific domains to model intricate infrastructure networks, assess vulnerabilities, and develop comprehensive metrics for assessing network resilience.
